In Japan, it is very difficult to identify a plant is Heliopsis helianthoides var. helianthoides or Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra. However, I think that photos below at the Hokkaido University Botanical Garden (Sapporo City, Hokkaido, Japan) are those of Heliopsis helianthoides var. scabra. Similar plant has been cultivated in the Koishikawa Botanical garden (Tokyo, Japan). |
